Just moved into our house and want to get a new alarm system installed having heard of a couple of break-in in our street…we thought this was a “good” area…lol
Can anyone recommend anything? Don’t have a huge budget.
Thanks!countrycottageParticipantMay 22, 2016 at 8:45 pmPost count: 6
sorry to hear you’ve had burglaries in your new area, it’s really unsettling.
we got quotes front he large alarm companies when we moved but in the end went for a Yale wireless alarm which our builder installed. I imagine if you are good at DIY then you could easily install it yourself. We’ve had it for 2 years and no problems. It’s the Yale premium wireless from screwfix, much cheaper than others!tinytoesParticipantJune 23, 2016 at 9:12 pmPost count: 5
we also have the Yale wireless system. its newly installed so can’t really comment much but seems good and is reasonably priced. only drawback is the ugly yellow box!LouLemonParticipantJune 29, 2016 at 2:10 pmPost count: 4
the only issue with this type of system is that you aren’t going to be wired up to the police or anything. depends how tight you think your security needs to be whether you would like someone to come over to check things out if the alarm goes off?sandy56ParticipantJanuary 30, 2017 at 10:14 amPost count: 5
I am really sorry to hear about the break ins. I bought an intrusion alarm monitoring system http://www.fire-monitoring.com/intrusion-alarm-monitoring/ . You can just connect the alarm to a DVR or NVR to see the recorded footage. You could even get an app installed so that it could give you notification if anybody does try to break in to your house.
